about us
In 2023, Esther and Regardt Taljaard established Starway Academy with the vision to be a leading global, online academy that transforms ordinary people into Holy Spirit-filled digital evangelists.
Our motto at Starway Academy is ‘Ignite your Purpose’, derived from the underlying meaning of a star.
A star shines by radiation from its internal energy sources (igniting itself), and the sun (the closest star to Earth) gives life.
The ‘Way’ of Starway is derived from John 14:6, where Jesus said: “I am the only Way to God and the real Truth and the real Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
As you embark on our course, we know you will learn, grow, and ultimately ignite your purpose through Jesus.

ESNA COLYN
Head of Starway Academy
In 2024, Starway Academy guided Esna Colyn through various tough questions about purpose. In one year, the course helped Esna make her life’s dream come true. And so, when the opportunity to continue with Starway Academy in 2025 arose, Esna seized it when the Taljaards decided to follow new career paths.
Esna qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1993 and is currently a member of SAICA. Esna gained substantial experience in banking, private equity, and corporate finance before joining i-BLOOM Beauty in May 2010 as the CEO. During her tenure at i-BLOOM Beauty, Esna realised that her true passion is empowering and inspiring women.
In 2022, Esna stepped down as CEO and assumed the role of chairperson of i-BLOOM Beauty until November 2024. Esna is currently pursuing her true passion in working in the body of Christ to build and grow God’s Kingdom through filmmaking, teaching, and various business efforts. Esna also enjoys acting as a business mentor to various business entrepreneurs.
From February to November, we have structured online classes twice weekly on Thursday evenings (7-9 pm) and Saturday afternoons
(5-7 pm). The classes are two hours each to ensure we achieve optimum results together.

Hear from God and gain a deeper understanding of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, who He is and what He does.
Gain further experience in social media, digital communication, cyber wellness, presentation skills, and security through the experience and expertise of multiple guest lecturers who are all distinguished leaders in the social media and cyber world.

Experience the fullness of life and the heart of Father God and gain experience in film and content creation.
Crafting something unique is a skill to be honed. Unlock the secrets behind the emotional impact of films and content. The magic lies in the concept. Join us on a journey of discovery with our film partners, where you will unearth the hidden gems within yourself, crafting narratives of hope, salvation, and freedom to deeply resonate with and touch the hearts of your audience.

Applications for our 2025 student intake are now open
our fees
Online Full-Time Course Fees
R1 750
A once-off, non-refundable registration fee of R1 750 is payable after successful application. The fee includes a branded Starway Academy cap and your prescribed books.
R1 450
A monthly fee of R1 450 for 10 months is payable monthly in advance from February to November 2025 for online students.
Communication will take place on our social media platforms to introduce the master classes, online and in person, once a quarter to introduce students to the various subject matter experts. These master classes will be open to students and the public and will inspire and ignite your purpose as an attendant. The fees for these classes are not included in our monthly fee listed above.
Study Material
Prescribed books will be provided at the course commencement date and are included in the once-off registration fee.
You will receive a Starway Academy Completion Certificate upon successfully completing the course.

Day courses for online students are R450 per day and payable upfront.

The applicant must love Jesus, the Word of God and be led by the Holy Spirit.
The applicant must be willing to submit to the leadership of Starway Academy.
The applicant must commit and be comfortable with the study fees and be willing to pay in a timely manner.
The applicant must have a Wi-Fi connection, laptop, and cell phone that they can use to attend classes and create content for practical assignments.
The applicant must be willing to share their content on all Starway Academy’s social media and digital platforms as part of their one-year practical experience.
The applicant must be willing to work with other students from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Finally, the applicant must have a teachable spirit and a brilliant attitude.
