how it all started
In 2023, Esther and Regardt Taljaard established Starway Academy with the vision to be a leading global, online academy that transforms ordinary people into Holy Spirit-filled digital evangelists.
Our motto at Starway Academy is ‘Ignite your Purpose’, derived from the underlying meaning of a star.
A star shines by radiation from its internal energy sources (igniting itself), and the sun (the closest star to Earth) gives life.
The ‘Way’ of Starway is derived from John 14:6, where Jesus said: “I am the only Way to God and the real Truth and the real Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
As you embark on our course, we know you will learn, grow, and ultimately ignite your purpose through Jesus.

ESNA COLYN
Head of Starway Academy
In 2024, Starway Academy guided Esna Colyn through various tough questions about purpose. In one year, the course helped Esna make her life’s dream come true. And so, when the opportunity to continue with Starway Academy in 2025 arose, Esna seized it when the Taljaards decided to follow new career paths.
Esna qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1993 and is currently a member of SAICA. Esna gained substantial experience in banking, private equity, and corporate finance before joining i-BLOOM Beauty in May 2010 as the CEO. During her tenure at i-BLOOM Beauty, Esna realised that her true passion is empowering and inspiring women.
In 2022, Esna stepped down as CEO and assumed the role of chairperson of i-BLOOM Beauty until November 2024. Esna is currently pursuing her true passion in working in the body of Christ to build and grow God’s Kingdom through filmmaking, teaching, and various business efforts. Esna also enjoys acting as a business mentor to various business entrepreneurs.
